2019 Black Women’s expo (cHICAGO)

This past weekend, The Black Women’s Expo (BWE) celebrated 25 years! I’ve been coming to the BWE for the past few years & I must say, this year’s BWE will definitely be one I’ll forever remember. My family & I truly enjoyed ourselves from the moment we entered the McCormick Place.

I like to consider the BWE as the “One-Stop Shop Event” because you literally can find everything that you possibly want or need in the same building. Rather you’re interested in hair care products, clothing, beauty products, college, accessories, skin care products, food, music performances, seminars, artwork, books, fashion shows and etc. you’ll definitely find it all & more at the BWE. Oh, but wait, did I mention majority, if not all of what you see is Black Owned as well? Black Excellence at it’s finest.

The moment we stepped off the escalator, we walked into a bright pink area where Luster’s Pink was stationed greeting everyone who walked by and also was performing live demonstrations of their products. Not far from Luster was the BET Her was stationed with some of the most beautiful decorations that everyone just had to stop by & take a quick picture or two or ten – I know my family sure did.

We walked up & down each aisle amazed at all the brands we were introduced to such as Michele’s Maple Creme Syrup, My Snap & Go, Gift of Hope, Rhinestones Reflections, Riley’s Ribs, Modi, Dressed 2 The Tee, Decadent Flavor (loved the mini doughnuts) and etc. There was also plenty of brands we were familiar with as well such as Mielle Organics, All Things Charamaine, Chicago State University, WGCI, V103, ABC7, Savvy Creations, Uncrowned Kings Brand, Ooh Wee Sweet Tea, & many others. This isn’t even half of list of exhibitors present either. And don’t get me started about the fashion show. That Blake Martin Experience grabbed everyone’s attention – when I say everybody, I do mean everybody’s attention. There wasn’t a duel moment as each model ripped the BWE stage one by one! Hands down, the highlight of my family and I time at the BWE.

Although my family & I spent half of our Saturday at the BWE visiting booths and watched the fashion show, there was still so much that we weren’t able to visit such as seminars, performances, guest appearances and more booths. But, using the BWE hashtag #SheMatters, I’m able to experience the 25th Black Women’s Expo all over again!

I look forward to next year’s!
